HTTP error when uploading media

$

I encountered this problem since yesterday.

When I upload photos, none would actually upload, and I get the “HTTP error” message.

The images are only 600×450 pixels, and file sizes range between 100 to 300 kb. No apostrophes on the file names. I tried restarting my laptop a couple of times, too.

Still, the HTTP error appears.

Please advice.

HTTP error uploading media

I’ve notized through time that each month, when i upload images, they give more and more Http errors. This last month i’ve had to upload them, save draft and then upload again so i could do it, and now i’ve reached a point that no matter what i do, they always give an Http error and don’t upload.

I’ve tried deactivating all of my plugings and the problem doesn’t solve. What can i do?

media files won’t upload – http error

I’m having problems with one particular post. I’m a food blogger and am trying to upload pictures of a Shepherd’s pie that I recently made. I edit the photos in Lightroom, export them out at a 600×600 pixel size and import them into WordPress – it works for every other post I have but this shepherd’s pie keeps giving me an http error when I try to upload pix. I’ve tried to upload them to a “new post” but get the same error.
Website is www.garlicandzest.com

Page not found/500 Internal Server Error/Content Encoding Error/HTTP error

These errors happen in both Firefox and in Safari. I am getting a variety of errors whatever I do in WordPress such as:
Oops! That page can’t be found, Page Not Found, 500 Internal Server Error, Content Encoding Error, HTTP error (when trying to upload an image). These happen with the following actions: preview a page or change, click “Update”, publish a post, upload an image, edit an image, view the page, view a change to an edit, view a post, try to go to the dashboard, try to go to the list of Posts or Pages in the dashboard, etc. Often, if I click on page reload in the browser, it will cycle through two or three of these before either actually finding the page or permanently giving a page not found message. Then I have to return to the dashboard and the menu item (which sometimes works cleanly or I also encounter more of these errors) to get back to the post I just published so I can view it. Most of the time, when I get back to a post that couldn’t be found, I’ll see that the change/update was made but some times it also doesn’t save the change.

These were happening in WordPress 4.7.3 and are still happening in version 4.7.4, but more frequently.

What is wrong with WordPress? These errors really slow down work.

HTTP Error Uploading Media

Hi there!

I have a new projects and everything was going fine before I tried to upload a new image to my server. Since then (since 2 hours ago) I’ve been trying a lot of suggestions to my problem that I found here and on Google.

I got the HTTP error and I simple can’t upload any media. Here what I did already:

– Deactivated all plugins
– Changed wp-content/uploads folder permissions
– Reinstalled WordPress (I have the last version)
– Applied some code on functions, wp-config and htacess.

Nothing happened. I’m getting mad with this. I have a lot of WordPress websites and when I got this error (a long time ago) I remember I solved it fast.

Any help? I’m in a hurry to get this website online.

Thanks in advance.

Bruno

http error uploading .zip

I’m using a plugin called: Easy Digital Downloads
I’m using it for Minecraft .bins for Xbox 360 I’ll put the world into a zip and upload it to the “Insert Media” page it will upload half way or all the way and fail with HTTP error.

I’ve looked online and some say add code php or .htaccess file. Wont work.
Disabled all plugins but Easy Digital Downloads Wont work.
Edit Single Post (single.php) Wont work.
Add Plugin: Default to GD Wont work.
Changed .zip to .rar I get: Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

The file is only: 30.7 MB and the file upload is set to 500MB
Added a file called: php.ini it contains:
memory_limit=256M
post_max_size=500M
upload_max_filesize=500M
I’m using Godaddy Linux Deluxe Memory 512, CPU 100, Processes 100
File Usage 10,216 / 250,000

I just started this site not to long ago. I’m frustrated. I’m new to this and 1 problem leads to 10 more.
I reverted everything back to normal on the things that did not work. I have clue what to do now.
I’m using Oria theme. Does this have anything to do with WordPress 4.7.5 being the problem? If so how do I downgrade without redoing everything again or will they fix it.

I came to WordPress on the hopes of using Easy Digital Downloads but running into so many problems is ridiculous.

HTTP Error Issues

Dear Wordfence team:

I hope this message finds you well. I’m currently experiencing an issue with your plugin and it might be related to another plugin I’m using simultaneously too. Whenever I activate Wordfence with Page Links To, I get an “HTTP error” when I try to upload an image to my Media Library. However, this is seldom since it varies from file to file, and from browser to browser. I believe the issue is related to Wordfence though because I have switched settings on the other plugin, and the issue persists when Wordfence is activated.

If it helps, it seems to work in Mozilla Firefox, but not on the other browsers.

Could you please look into this?

Thanks!

Still no solution: http error for media upload

Hi,

I’ve spent a lot of time investigating the ‘http error’ I’m receiving when uploading media to my library used for my site www.sturmtifo.com. Since weeks I’m limited with upload sizes to only a few KB for JPGs (e.g. 41 KB with 448×299 pixel) – everything bigger creates the ‘http error’. Checked this with my hosting provider, they confirmed an upload limit of 200 MB per file.
I’ve tried several older recommendations in this forum editing .htaccess or wp-config.php or shutting down all plugins – no success.
I’m somehow wondering to find no real answer since I assume I’m not the only one with this issue (?!).
I’d appreciate any help on that as this issue is critical to my business as photopgrapher…

Many thanks in advance!

HTTP error on media upload

Hi – great plugin.

BUT: I am getting ‘HTTP error’ whenever I upload images via the media button in a post.

I’m done all the usual stuff (deactivating plugins, .htaccess etc) but no change. Looked up fixes on the web but none have worked. Problem is independent of user level.

Everything works fine in the normal backend.

I would be grateful for any advice you may have on this issue.

Thanks

It seems jetpack is causing a problem processing jpg uploads. I get http error when uploading and the thumbnail doesn’t load in the media gallery. The file does seem to make to the server however. I deactivated and uploaded again and it worked. Tried on three different .jpg files

Front end of my site is scrambled

Hello, I’m hoping someone can help because I’m now becoming quite desperate to get to the bottom of this issue. I reached out to Bluehost chat support last night for help with what I thought was a tech issue. I was not able to upload images to my media library without receiving an HTTP error. The person on the chat would put me on hold periodically and then come back to ask me to test the action again. Each time I would try and upload a file but would get the same results. Little by little, more and more images would show up as broken links in my library and now the front end of my site is in complete disarray. The support person never told me what they were actually doing to try and fix the problem, they just ended the chat saying they’d tried everything they could. What was also strange was they said they were seeing things on my dashboard that I was not seeing. Now Bluehost says they are not even able to restore the backup. Up to this point, I’ve been very careful about security and keeping everything up to date. I backup my site every evening. What the heck can I do besides start all over again from scratch??

HTTP error almost every time a new image is uploaded

Hello everyone.

Since I installed this plugin, I get an HTTP error almost every time I upload a new image.

Furthermore, when I refresh the media page after a couple of minutes the image is there…together with 2 or 3 copies!

Any idea on the reason why?

HTTP error when uploading PDF

I work for a design company and we host sites for our clients. One of our clients keeps coming up with the HTTP Error when she tries to upload pdfs via the media library. The oddity here is that I am able to upload them on my end without an issue, and the client can upload files from a laptop. It’s just the desktop at her office that will come up with the error. I’ve looked around the forums for an answer to this, but have yet to find any answer that would help me out.

Unable to upload MP3 to wordpress website

[ Moderator note: moved to Fixing WordPress. ]

On our church website I am not able to upload an MP3 file about fifteen percent of the time while the other eighty-five percent WordPress doesn’t have a problem. The most recent audio clip that failed to upload is 19.7MB and twenty-one minutes and thirty-seven seconds and called sermon. My allowed upload size is 256MB. When the problem arrives it’s not always the sermon that isn’t able to be upload. I’ve had audio not upload that was only a minute or two long and called this or that. It…really drives me crazy since I was able to upload around twenty MPs and it seems like one will popup out of the blue and the server just rejects it.

I’ve tried changing the name of the file and the tags and that didn’t make a difference and even tried cutting the audio in half and that didn’t make a different. It just drives me CRAZY!!!

Can not change Upload limit despite increasing it

Hello Community,
I have a weird problem, everyone knows about the Uploadlimitproblem, when I was upsetting a new website I always increase it first, but this time it did not worked. I tried .htaccess, wp-config, php.ini, Plugin(s) and it is (normaly) not serversided (cause my webhoster has no upload limits). So when I upload an image and it is under 8mb it loads quite quickly but when it is over 8mb it stucks at 0-2% very long and loads until 8mb are uploaded (loading bar/percentage of 8mb from the file is reached), then I get an http-Error. And it does not load in the background or so. I does not know what to do now, please help me.

HTTP error.

Hello,

I just updated my wordpress on my server and I tried to upload a new image and it keeps failing giving me this, HTTP error.

I’ve updated all my plugins and erased my browser stuff as well to see if that was the issue and still nothing. I don’t know what’s wrong as to why it’s not uploading the file is only 683 KB.

I used the main uploader, not the basic. It tells me it’s at 100% but then fails with the HTTP error at the top of the page.

Thank you for any help on resolving this issue.

I tried the “Increase Max Filesize” plug in but it did nothing, once I deleted it I am not able to upload anything any more. I just get http errors. I am extremely new to WordPress so if you are kind enough to help me please make your answer as simple as step-by-step instructions can get.
