Evergreen666 on "HTTP Error When Uploading MP3s Ony - Pics Upload OK"

Hello,

I receive an http error from the media uploader whenever I try to upload MP3 files. The status bar will say uploaded 100%, but the file will not crunch. Then I receive the message in red 'http error'.

This only happens with mp3s. Since receiving this error I have successfully uploaded very large picture files and everything functions normally. I have uploaded 2 mp3 files that were larger in MB than the one I am currently trying to upload and they loaded fine.

I have a brand new install of Wordpress 3.6. I am using the twenty thirteen theme.

The plugins I have installed are AntiSpam, Favicon Rotator, Shareaholic, Slideshow, and W3 Total Cache. I have disabled all of these and I still can't get the uploader to work for mp3s.

I have gone under Settings/Media and unchecked the organize my uploads into month and year based folders. I was still unable to upload mp3s.

I added a bit of code to a htaccess file I created in wpadmin. I can't remember what it was. I deleted it as that didn't work. I emptied my cache. I changed the content and upload folder permissions to 775 and 777 respectively. That did not work either. I have also tried switching browsers and using the browser upload. Neither of those worked.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello --

Last weekend I was working on uploading photos to galleries and everything was going swell. Today, I sat down for the first time in a week and tried to upload and am met with a "0 Images Uploaded" error. As the individual files are uploading, they have the yellow triangle that says "HTTP Error"

The part that boggles my head is that between last Sunday when I was working and now, nothing on the page has changed - nothing new installed, no one else has access to be in doing anything...

On the main Gallery Overview page, I run the PlugIn check with the following results:

Check plugin/theme conflict
Test failed, disable other plugins & switch to default theme

okTest image function
Could create image with 4048 x 3040 pixel

okCheck theme compatibility
Your theme should work fine with NextGEN Gallery

I'm only running 3 other plug-ins, Akismet, Facebook, and Jetpack - all of which were also running last week when I was uploading things as well.

Please advise. http://www.arclightpro.com

Hi,

I don't know what to do..Im desperate..

I'm having trouble uploading photos/pictures using wordpress. This problem started earlier (about 2-3months ago) out of nothing. One day i wanted to upload new photos to my portfolio and i just couldn't because of the HTTP error. I contacted my host and they told me they didnt change any setting so i thought it's problem of wordpress so I searched for solution but none of them worked. By none I mean i tried everything written here on forums/other websites/blogs..

Symptoms are:
-uploading everything except photos works just fine. I tried mp3, rar, zip and pdf.
-When I try to upload photo it stops during the progress (everytime different %) and after a while i get HTTP error.
-Using non-flash uploader gives Proxy Error
-It actualy uploads the photo but from 10 to 30 times. It creates the same file 10-30x and adds it to library but creating thumbnails doesnt work.
-Size of file doesnt matter. I tried 20kb to 500kb

Server error log:

www.bukoven.com [Wed Sep 18 22:08:48 2013] [error] [client 62.107.61.100] (20014)Internal error: proxy: error reading status line from remote server 127.0.0.1:83, referer: http://www.bukoven.com/wp-admin/media-new.php

Thanks for any kind of advice

I have used the network admin for each site like this to set a image upload folder:

Network -> Sites -> Edit -> Settings

Upload Path wp-content/uploads
Fileupload Url http://www.mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads

But some sites are still uploading to blogs.dir (blogs.dir folders do not have the right permissions since I moved to a new server).

How do I set /wp-content/uploads as the default image folder for all sites?

I've searched through the forum but haven't found any threads on this topic that are (a) recent and/or (b) have solutions I am able to do. I don't know much about code or anything.

But here's the deal: I'm trying to upload a video file (I've uploaded this same video file but I needed to delete the old one and re-upload), and it will progress as per usual until it gets to 100%. Now, normally at this point, that progress bar should go from saying 100% to "Crunching." Instead, it keeps saying 100% and at the top, a long red bar saying "HTTP error" shows up. There's no way to finish or click "Done" or anything. The only thing I know to do is refresh the page and lose the upload and start all over again, always ending with the same result.

I've tried uploading directly to my FTP with my hosting company's website, but their limit is 150 MB and my video file is bigger than that.

Help, anyone??

Thanks.

When I attempt to upload files into a new gallery, I'm getting an HTTP Error on all the files I want to upload. It then reports I haven't uploaded any files but the Gallery seems to have been created (with 0 images in it).

I've looked around and done what others have said:
1) Created wp-content/gallery and set permissions to 777
2) Deactivated all other plugins
3) I believe I have all the other prerequisites (php, Wordpress, etc)
4) I have a clean install of NextGen and wasn't using V1

My host is on GoDaddy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, I'm having trouble with one specific PDF file uploading. It's very small (44 kB) so I really don't think that's the problem. And the strangest part is it's the only file I'm having trouble uploading. All the other pdf's work fine.

I try to upload it and it gets to 100%, but before it has a chance to crunch it displays a "HTTP Error" message.

This is weirding me out, but I need to get this file up!

Any ideas??

I am currently unable to upload any media. When I try and use the drag and drop method, I get an HTTP error. If I try and use the simple uploader, the page freezes in chrome and I get a no content error in IE. Is this a hiccup of the upgrade or is there something I can do to fix it?

Thank you!

This problem developed earlier today for me. I was running 3.6.1 at the time. One of the forms suggested that the problem was an incompatibility between WP 3.6.1 and the flash uploader and that I should update to 3.7.

I updated and the problem still exists. It seems to take a little longer to time out or error out than it did on 3.6.1. But the end result is the same. I deactivated ALL plugins and the error still exists. I tried a no flash uploader plugin that was suggested in one of the forum threads and that did not work.

I am up against a deadline for an article to post tomorrow. Does anyone have any ideas?

Trying to upload using either of the media file uploaders and I'm getting either "500 Internal Server Error" or "HTTP error"

Works fine on some websites but not other another.

Looked around various forums and some are suggesting that it's the hosting platform that may be the issue. Others suggest the .htaccess file.
Tried all of the suggestions for the .htaccess file to not avail.

Not sure what to ask my hosts ?

my .htaccess file currently looks like this

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

<IfModule mod_security.c="">
<Files upload.php="">
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</Files>
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

Alright, I'll try to keep a cool head when discussing this issue, but I have already tried about 3 dozen "solutions" that have not yet fixed the problem.

Problem:
So, uploading any files, be it themes, images, or anything, I receive a http error or get redirected to a 404 page whenever the file size is greater than 100kb... yes, kb.

Info about hosting and what have you:
Linux VPS
PHP version: 5.3.19
MySQL: 5.0.96
PHP memory_limit is set to 32M
upload_max_filesize is set to 100M

.htaccess file:

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

Added the following line to wp-config.php(have tried without this as well):

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

Have also tried many changes to the .htaccess and php.ini files. These changes were related to establishing higher memory limits and upload limits. I have since reverted all changes to these files. Of course all plugins and themes were disabled during the process of troubleshooting. Upload speed is not an issue for those thinking it may be related to a max execution time problem.

*Side note: files will upload to 100% and then the http error occurs when it begins to crunch the file. 404 page is generated when using the browser uploader as opposed to the multi-file uploader.

All advice is welcome to help solve this issue.

Thanks,

Connor

Since updating to 3.7.1 images will not add to my website's pages.

Here is what happens:
1. Use the add media button
2. Upload to the media gallery - it states "HTTP Error" (which is not new - this has always happened) and then looks as though the upload has been unsuccessful, however when I select the option to see images uploaded to "this page" the image is there
3. Add the image to the page currently working on - and nothing happens. The curser moves over as if the image is there - but it is just blank space. When I look at the text editor the code for the picture is there - but it is not visible.

- This was not an issue until I updated to 3.7.1.
- I have tried Safari and Firefox and neither works
- I have deactivated all plugins
- I changed the storage folder under media settings to the default

- I have not reverted to the default theme as I want to keep using the theme I have as I purchased it - I use the Agency Theme from Themes Force.

Any help would be much appreciated.. I'm not very savvy with this stuff.

I don't have links to the error because the images simply are not visible when added to the pages so there is nothing to see. All images on my site were already there, uploaded prior to updating.

Thanks in advance.

I've been uploading pics using the media uploader and all of my pictures upload fine except for one. One image keeps giving me an http error. I've tried uploading copies of the file but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?
